Kevin and Irene’s Brooklyn engagement photos have me swooning right now. Jane’s carousel in DUMBO has a certain romance about it. Maybe it’s fantasy or nostalgia but it sure has that “je na se quois” that gives me all the feels.
“I had an inkling leading up to the proposal because of some unintended leaks. Kevin spent a Saturday scoping out a good photography location for our “friend’s family pictures” in Central Park. I believed him, but with some skepticism. I’ve always wanted to go rowing in Central Park and he had suggested it the day of the proposal, so more flags went up. However, on the day of, it was poor rainy weather and the boat house was closed. We ended up just meeting with friends at Central Park and at that point I was thinking to myself how off I was about my suspicions. On our way to brunch, Kevin wanted to show his friends a nice view, pulled us all over and that is when he popped the question. It was actually one of our old hangout spots, that specific rock, “our rock.” 🙂
Some of our first few dates were in Central Park and she had mentioned wanting to take the rowboats out so that was the original plan. Of course the week of the weather forecast suddenly showed rain, and while waiting nervously, the morning came and sure enough there was a light drizzle. That meant the boathouse was potentially not going to open. I had wanted the proposal to be a surprise so I had arranged plans with friends to meet in Central Park and so we had no choice but to go. We ended up going to this area by the lake where we had sat and talked during one our first dates and I popped the question!
His giving, kind and generous character. He accepts and embraces all 110% of me and I have never felt more, me.
What he loves about her:
She’s such a bright caring person and able to cheer up anyone she’s around.
